Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She was credited with launching contemporary research on children's memory of eyewitnesses and the role of children as victims within court settings. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded multiple grants, and received numerous award both international and national. She has collaborated with numerous organisations and governments all over the world to conduct policy and research pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). She also is a founding part of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division, American Psychology-Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
